Blog: My Virtual Exhibit - My Cover Collection

Blog Overview: This is my first exhibit. Not an actual one, but a start. I was thinking on a subject to make my little virtual exhibit based on it that I received my cover, including some very nice stamps, from Belgium.   Tags:belgium, iran, virtual exhibit

This is my first exhibit. Not an actual one, but a start.

I was thinking on a subject to make my little virtual exhibit based on it that I received my cover, including some very nice stamps, from Belgium.
There were two collector cards placed in the cover as well, to protect the stamps, and of course for their beauty!

I always liked to build my material on my own, so that I will have them as I like.
And that is why I really like to build album pages for my collection.

Having some related items together at hand, I started to make something for storing them, using ordinary A4 glassine pages with a soldering iron, and as I finished making it, I thought it might be a good subject for an exhibition, at least a virtual one.

This is the cover itself, inserted in my made glassine page:

I have written the country name and details of who sent me the cover and details about how it was originally when I opened it (the latter, in Persian).

you can see the two cards individually:

And the whole page:

(sorry for low quality, that is because of my camera's poor quality)

Finally the back of the page:

The three bird stamps are definitive ones designed by drawer André Buzin (famous in Belgium for fauna & flora drawings on stamps). Those (low) value stamps respectively picture (from left to right) a 0.06 € little owl (athene noctua), issued on 09.07.2007, a 0.05 € cirl bunting (emberiza cirlus), issued on 21.03.2005, and a 0.05 € common teal (anas crecca), issued on 26.02.2007.

The largest stamp (upper right) is an engraved picture of Belgian King Leopold III. The stamp issued on 29.09.1999 is still in Belgian Francs (BEF) currency (face value 17 BEF = 0.42 EUR). Euro (EUR) officially replaced Belgian Francs (BEF) on 01.01.2002. This stamp was part of a 6 stamps sheet commemorating Belgium's Kings.
