Here are the Green-winged teal 10X 2Ft stamps of one of the booklet panes. As you see quite enough ducks for the following recipe.
Fried wild duck

g90427_HungaryREC527.jpg
The stamp image on the recipe page is of the Hilton hotel on the Danube river in Budapest. Master chef, Istvan Juhadz created the recipe which definitely has some heart stopping qualities as it includes cream, butter and bacon.

Hungary 1988, M/S 20 Ft. Mallard ducks , male and female with juveniles, on the water.
You can see ducks flying in the background. Maybe a hunter is after them for a wild duck pie

Hello ,:)
Seems the drake is always the flashy coloured one of the group. The breeders [female] mallards always seem so unremarkable mainly due to the fact they are constantly with the ducklings, and need the camaflauge. All nice stamps, also the veal bones are cooked [simmered ] for about four to five hours to create a broth, or geleton, thorw in an onion and a bit of garlic.
The universal items used for flavouring are celery, garlic, onion and carrot, place them in a cheese-cloth, and when your stew ,soup, broth or whatever is finished remove the cheese-cloth with a ladel, and chuck it. never leave same in pot.
I used to be cook as well, and have not forgot the basics. Roast duck, but fried duck will be tougher than a 2 dollar steak. .........................................................jack Very Happy

Hello Haris, Smile ,
Thank's for the idea we could use a booklet featuring ducks. There are many species.
Why just last evening, and living next to a marsh, with the tide changing every 12 hours, a large bird flew over head. My daughter Jacqueline commented::::look there goes a condor, and of course my reply was;;;;no dear, it's a crane, or more commonly called a marsh hen.
At any rate congratulations to our beautiful member Haris, on two fronts;;;;
1 A prolific contributor, and top award achievement honours, and her amazing new avatar photo, I hazard
a guess and say it is from Haris' grade ten yearbook. I may be off by a year.
Thank you Haris for all the blood sweat and probably atear or two at Mp,
Your greatest admirer...............jack.........aka [also known as] ......lsk Cool
Ps. Orchids blooming everywhere, white, pink, yellow, [ladyslippers] pink variety also known as moccaisin flower.
Hear a sireen in the distance, must run and see if i've had a stroke or siezure. hohohohoho

It seems everyone was still hungry and more ducks were needed so two of the above were overprinted in 1989,
The 2Ft Eurasian teal was uprated to 3Ft

Tourism was on the rise. More ducks were needed to fill the large cauldrons of the popular riverside hotels in Budapest. A second pane of ducks was included in the stamp booklet.

The master chef of the grand Forum Hotel , which you can see on the booklet page, created this recipe named Wild duck in mushroom sauce. You only need 5 ducks for this recipe so if you invite all your stamp friends over, just double the quantity and use all the ducks from the 4Ft pane.

g90427_HungaryREC421.jpg
The booklet contains four more recipes , please contact me if you would like copies of them.

Hi guys,

This was intended for chickens but I suppose it can be made to apply to ducks or any other fowl.

I posted it originally in Facebook and my officemates had a great laugh. Please pardon my occasionally dark humor....

I love Duck Orange once in a while. However there is a time for eating duck and a time for conserving them.

Recently I went with my family to Harvington Hall here in the West Midlands. Whilst in the visitors shop I found my feet surrounded by a mother and her family of ducklings. We gently ushered them out into the garden with its lake and spent an enjoyable hour watching the family.

According to the staff of the Hall the mother duck had brooded two clutches of eggs and in total all thirteen had hatched. Here they were waddlng around a few week later, heeding mum's calls and pecking at grass, worms, seeds with youthful concentration.

Mum had been very lucky to raise them all with all the threats from otters, foxes and stoats etc locally. It was a lovely time watching them on lawn and moat. My only regret - I had forgotten my camera!

Theo, You may have forgotten to bring your camera, but you obviously captured it all in your mind's eye. I think sometimes when you look at something without the distraction of a camera, you really see it there in the moment. And Theo, you always describe things so well, your audience just has to listen, no pictures needed.

Make people happy
I'm a lousy stamp collector, that I don't mind admit it, but I can make people easily, and when people happy, people will give me whatever I ask, so normal I ask for free stamps, anyway, my motto of collecting stamp, "Buy half, Free half" - don't know if it's a correct way of collecting stamps, but who care, as long I happy, everyone around me also happy
