This poll is from the group: Exhibiting Your Collection

Entries for the MyPhilately Virtual Exhibit competition have now closed and we would like to thank everyone who has added an exhibit, commented on the exhibits or just viewed them. There are some cracking exhibits here, coming in from all over the globe – from modern to antique philately, their range is just fantastic.

Many members are exhibiting their collection for the very first time and if we have helped a collector considered exhibiting either online or at their local/national or international stamp show, then we consider the job mission accomplished!

So who wins the USB microscope for their exhibit contribution? Since everyone’s collection is just as important as anybody elses, we felt it only proper to give the decision to the people of MyPhilately and call it “The People’s Choice” award.

We have set up a poll to see who should be awarded “The People’s Choice” award and receive the USB microscope as a prize. Click on the following link to add your vote to the poll – polling close 15th October 2009

Thank you very much, friends, for your votes and appreciation.
A part the prize, that I will very happy to receive, I liked a lot this way to concept philately.
I think that viewing an exhibition is a great experience to understand how we can mount our collection to make it more nice and attractive for us and for the readers.
At the same time, I know very well that not all people can view directly an exhibition, for different reasons (distance, job, unpossibility, ...): actually, in Rome, we are mounting "Italia 2009", a great exhibition with 346 exhibits from all the world, on 2320 frames (we will open on next 21th October), and a lot of my friends could not be in Rome for different reasons.
So, a virtual exhibition is a great way to view an exhibition even if we can't view it directly.
At the end, I think that each one of the competitors has done a great work, and I hope that each one of us has learnt something viewing all the virtual exhibits here on MP.
Cheers, Marco

congratulations to you !

my own problem for real exhibitions is the lack of Mounts ! i have not yet found stamp mounts here,... i can build my own album pages and place stamps by my own way on them... but mounts are the most easiest way.

Hi StampIran, and thank you for your comment.
Are you sure to have need mounts? I never bought mounts, I always made by myself exhibit pages, and in thematic is more complex than in other exhibition classes because you have to window some pieces... so, try to create by yourself your pages: with philately we have to fun, creating the pages is also fun.
Cheers, Marco

Random Stamp Skill

Warrigal

Warrigal

Anti-bandit stamps of Republic of China
Anti-bandit stamps are high-valued stamps which had control chops applied to restrict their usage to a particular town in the more remote provinces of the Republic of China. This was done to prevent theft and currency speculation during the Warlord period from the late 1920s to mid 1940s. I have been researching this topic for over 10 years and now have a large collection, but am still missing lots of items, especially covers. I am happy to exchange information and buy or exchange anti-bandit stamps and covers - but no forgeries or bogus issues thank you.
